The Speaking Bearcats traveled to Manhattan, Kansas this past weekend to compete in the Kansas State Swing tournaments. There were two tournaments at Kansas State this past weekend. The Lynne Ross Classic and the KSU Alumni tournament.
The tournaments featured nationally ranked programs from University of Nebraska-Omaha (5th Place), University of Nebraska-Lincoln (7th Place), Doane College (15th Place), and Hastings College (18th Place).

“We had our first event champion of the season this weekend. It is always nice to be rewarded for all the hard work we have put in. Sam did just that with her outstanding prose performance,” said Brian Swafford, Northwest forensics and debate coach.
“The best thing about the final round was when a judge apologized for not writing more comments because she was so drawn in to the performance,” said Samantha Stone.
The Speaking Bearcats will travel to Independence, Missouri for the Central States Swing tournament and they will also travel to Omaha, Nebraska for the Nebraska Nuts Swing Tournment.
